Things I Wish I Knew When I Started My Small Business

When I started Luna & Jade in 2019, I admittedly had no idea what I was getting myself into. I basically had an idea and Google and just went all in. The journey was HARD, but looking back, I don’t think I’d be where I am now if it wasn’t for the struggle of started a small business on my own. So, if 2019 Mandy could give 2025 Mandy some advice, this is what it would be.

Not everyone you know will support you. It’ll be a hard pill to swallow, but you’ll find strangers on the internet that will cheer you on every day and they’ll become lifelong friends.

You’re going to have to work HARD. Some days you’ll want to give up. Others it’ll feel so worth it. It’s an ebb and flow, so roll with it.

Whether you believe you can or believe you can’t, you’re right.

Show up as you are. The good, bad, and messy. People like authentic and no one is perfect. Lean into this and let your true self shine.

Don’t let one negative comment/review deter you from your goals. People will always have something to say. Block out the noise and keep going.

Build a support system around you to bounce ideas off of, vent to, and know will always have your back. These people will carry you through the hard times.

Be PROUD of yourself. You had a dream and decided to go for it. That’s pretty amazing. And so are you.
